Ariel Holdings has announced that founding member Don Kramer has stepped down from the CEO role and will be replaced by president George Rivaz.
Kramer founded Ariel in 2005 with a $1bn investment from private equity sponsors. He is to become a non-executive chairman of the company.
Rivaz has been with Ariel Holdings since December 2005 and has been its president since 2008. He will continue in his role as non-executive chairman of Ariel Reinsurance and Atrium Underwriting Group.
In a statement Kramer said that Rivas was a key player in establishing Ariel Re's franchise and led the group's acquisition of Atrium in 2007.
