Len Crouse, a principal with The Towner Management Group (TMG) and former Vermont captive regulator has been appointed to the Government Affairs Committee of the National Risk Retention Association (NRRA).

The NRRA is widely regarded as the voice of RRGs, advocating for members on state and federal levels and, according to committee chairman Joe Deems, the work of the NRRA’s Government Affairs Committee is the primary reason for the NRRA’s existence.

"The committee includes two dozen of the most knowledgeable people in the industry and we're absolutely delighted Len has joined our group on behalf of Towner Management,” said Deems in a statement.

“With Len's years of experience regulating captives and dealing with the NAIC, he will be a true asset,” added Deems, who is also an attorney with Deems Law Offices.

"NRRA is the most effective advocate RRGs have, and I hope to continue that tradition," said Crouse. "Whether dealing with modernising the Risk Retention Act of 1986 or communicating with domicile regulators, NRRA is always there for its members."

Cell Company Guide

WELCOME TO THE Captive Review Cell Company Handbook 2009 – the second edition of our global directory of cell company jurisdictions. Since we last published this directory, the general attitude toward cell companies seems to have shifted up a gear. Whereas single-parent companies have long ruled the captive roost, a slight uptick in the formation of pure captives at the beginning of this year can’t hide the fact that growth in this market is still sluggish.
